Diana Hand is an experienced artist with a special gift for drawing horses with freedom and spontaneity. She is the author and illustrator of “Draw Horses in 15 Minutes” (Ilex/Octopus, 2015) and in the workshop will demonstrate the three stage approach to drawing described in the book, as well as encouraging you to experiment freely with materials. You will have the rest of the day to work from your own ideas and images, or to gain inspiration from Diana’s library of books and photographs with her personal advice and guidance as desired. This class is suitable for all artists from complete beginners to those with more experience.
The GARGUNNOCK workshops will take place between 10 am to 4 pm in the Gargunnock Community Centre, Leckie Road, Gargunnock, FK8 3BJ, near Stirling. Gargunnock is a beautiful rural location looking out across the Forth Vallery towards the Highlands in the north. Our studio space for the day is a perfect space lit by large skylights and open to the adjacent garden area if weather conditions are right. The Gargunnock Inn is very close if you wish to visit for lunch (1-2).
The EDINBURGH workshop on Sunday, 29th September will take place between 10 am and 4 pm in the Drawing Room at St. Margaret’s House, Edinburgh, EH7 6AE. This is a lovely spacious room with excellent natural light in an arts centre close to city centre, with easy parking on Sunday.
Paper and basic drawing materials are supplied, but you are free to bring your own favourite medium. Tea and coffee and light refreshments are provided free, but please bring a packed lunch. There are 10 spaces for the class, and the cost of the day is £45.000 payable in advance (£50.00 for Edinburgh). Pre booking essential.
Come and share your love of horses and your enjoyment of making art.
