SUMMARY:"Drawing the Horse's Head"  Gargunnock    23rd March 2024
DESCRIPTION:  \n  \nThis new class will focus on drawing the horse’s head.  I have studied the anatomy of the head in depth\, and would like to explore this with a group of horse lovers and artists. \nWe will begin with a warm up using charcoal and/ink\, and then concentrate on exploring the proportions\, the underlying structure of the head\, the features and the muscles.  All these aspects create the form and the surface appearance.  You may want to use your love of horses to make creative drawings inspired by this study or you may want to learn more about making figurative drawing.  Either is fine.  You are welcome to bring your own favourite images\, or I will have a collection of books for you to use. \nIf you are just starting in drawing horses\, this will also be of interest to you\, and I might try to include some more general information as well.   The workshop is held in the community centre in Gargunnock\, an attractive village a few miles west of Stirling.  Facilities are excellent\, with a well lit studio room and a private kitchen for our use. \nCHILDREN  UNDER 12 HALF PRICE WHEN ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT  – contact me at info@dianahand.com/07403414312 for details \nWe will work from 10 am to 4 pm\, with a break for lunch. SUMMARY:Draw Horses Workshop  29th September 2018  FULLY BOOKED
DESCRIPTION:If you love horses and would like to learn more about drawing them\,  I am planning a Drawing Horses Workshop for 2018\, based on my book “Draw Horses in 15 Minutes”.  I will demonstrate each stage of building a drawing\, followed by the opportunity to draw freely from memory from what you have learnt.\n \nThe planned date is 21st July\, 2018 at Gargunnock Community Centre\, Leckie Rd\, by Stirling FK8 3BJ.  10 am to 4 pm.   \nThe  venue is a beautiful room in the Community Centre of a peaceful rural village.  Our studio space has large skylights for ample natural light\, and excellent facilities\, including access to an open garden courtyard area\, a kitchen area and ample parking. Bed and breakfast is available in the village.  Tea and coffee is provided all day\, but bring your own lunch.  \n \nThere are 10 spaces available\, and the cost per participant is £45.00.   Basic drawing materials are provided. \n \nBOOKINGS for this workshop ARE NOW FULL \nI AM PLANNING MORE WORKSHOPS FOR 2019\, INCLUDING SPECIAL CLASSES FOR PARENTS AND CHILDREN\, AND MAYBE A CLASS IN EDINBURGH. \nComments from my workshop in 2017: \n“A thoroughly enjoyable day … Diana had so much knowledge and a clear passion for horses… Co-students were nice people and I think we all engaged with the day positively”  \n“The experience was creative\, relaxing and tranquil\, and Diana builds a confidence in experimenting with the materials and equine form”  \n“Great fun and teaching\, really nice people and relaxed atmosphere\, and wonderful to have a class like this on your doorstep out in the rurals..” \n
