EXPERIMENT WITH DRAWING HORSES IN MOVEMENT

Glasgow School of Art graduate Diana Hand is an experienced artist, with a special gift for drawing horses with freedom and spontaneity.  She is the author and illustrator of “Draw Horses in 15 Minutes” (Ilex/Octopus, 2015) and in the workshop will demonstrate an approach to drawing which combines free expression and experimentation with the principles of equine structure.

You will have the rest of the day to work from your own ideas and images, or to gain inspiration from Diana’s  library of books and photographs along with with her personal advice and guidance as desired.    This class is suitable for all artists from complete beginners to those with more experience.

Paper and basic drawing materials are supplied, but you are free to bring your own favourite medium.  Tea and coffee and light refreshments are provided free, but please bring a packed lunch.

Numbers are limited to 10 per class, and pre-booking is essential.

Our studio space for the day is a perfect space lit by large skylights and open to the adjacent garden area if weather conditions are right.  The Gargunnock Inn is very close if you wish to visit for lunch (1-2).

The EDINBURGH workshop in October  will be in the hall at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 15, Murrayfield Avenue, Edinburgh, EH12 6AU.   This is a lovely spacious room with excellent natural light.

Essence of the Horse – connection and expression through art and mindfulness

This will be a very special workshop with horse-led therapist, author and coach Pam Billinge,  and will take place at her home in near Mayennem, North-West France on 12th and 13th September.  We will combine drawing and mindfulness practice in the presence of  Pam’s own horses.
