Charcoal and pastel study of a group of horses and riders in an indoor school at the Royal Stables, Cordoba. The young horse in the background is being worked from the ground to give it confidence. The other horses and riders move around it to help. I visited Cordoba in 2025 and was privileged to watch the riders and horses as they trained and exercised. In the evenings there is a formal display, but I really enjoyed the more relaxed and intimate atmosphere of the practice sessions. I also like the pattern of the windows in this drawing.
