“Leaping Horse” LARGE CANVAS

Charcoal and pastel study from a photograph by Keron Psillas Oliviera in her book “Lusitano”. I have made many studies of this subject. The horse is slightly twisted to the left in his position. I am a keen anatomist and often seek to establish that structure in order to make a free and expressive drawing. But it was a challenge in this case! I have made a smaller framed version (Image size 350 x 260 mm) which will also be in the exhibition.
