SCROLL DOWN TO SEE MORE – “HORSES IN THE LANDSCAPE”
These mainly black, white and mid-toned works using both paint and charcoal are inspired by a scene of horses living in a field near my house in Scotland. I am fascinated by the meditative stillness of the horses as they stand motionless near the trees, indifferent to urgency of human life in the streets nearby. I have worked with this subject many times and this series is the culmination of other drawings and experiments.
Other paintings in this section are abstracted studies from photographs or drawings of horses in the landscape.
